Credential Validation Modules(postgresql)

CVM은 필터 프로그램을 사용하여 데이터베이스의 인증서 세트를 증명하는 프레임워크입니다. 인증서가 유효하다면, 필터로 동작하는 모듈은 인증서 세트를 입력으로 받으며, 상세한 정보를 출력으로 내보냅니다. 부가 입력은 환경 변수를 통해서 모듈에 주어집니다.

CVM을 위한 몇몇 아이디어는 PAM(pluggable authentication modules), qmail-pop3d가 사용하는 checkpassword 인터페이스 그리고 Courier IMAP 및 POP3가 사용하는 "authmod" 인터페이스를 통한 경험에서 옵니다. 이 프레임워크는 checkpassword 보다는 호출된 클라이언트에 덜 제한적인 곳에 위치하며, PAM 과 authmod 프레임워크보다는 양측에서 수행하는게 훨씬 수월합니다.

이 패키지는 PostgreSQL 데이타베이스와 상호작용하기 위한 cvm 바이너리를 포함합니다.
