Icinga 2는 모든 규모의 네트워크 요구에 맞는 범용 모니터링 어플리케이션입니 다. Icinga 1.x는 Nagios Fork로 시작하였습니다; 이 새로운 세대는 C++로 처음 부터 다시 개발되었으며 멀티쓰래딩 및 클러스트를 지원합니다.

특징:

 * Icinga 및 Nagios의 모든 표준 기능;
 * Icinga 1 및 Nagios 보다 더 빠르고 확장성이 더 뛰어남;
 * 새롭고, 더욱 직관적인 템플릿 기반에 설정 형식;
 * check 명령(monitoring-plugins*를 참조)을 실행하여 ICMP (ping)
