Fluidsynth è un sintetizzatore MIDI in tempo reale basato sulle specifiche soundfont (sf2 e sf3). Può essere usato per riprodurre input MIDI o file MIDI come audio. Gli eventi MIDI sono letti da dispositivi MIDI. Il suono è riprodotto in tempo reale verso il dispositivo di output sonoro.
