insieme di strumenti per manipolare e fare rapporti su dati MPEG

TStools è un insieme di strumenti a riga di comando multipiattaforma per lavorare con dati MPEG.

L'attenzione è focalizzata su strumenti relativamente semplici che si concentrano su dati MPEG (H.264 e H.262) impacchettati secondo H.222 (cioè TS o PS), con un interesse particolare per il controllo della conformità.

TS (Transport Stream) è tipicamente usato per la distribuzione di dati via cavo e via satellite. PS (Program stream) è tipicamente usato per archiviare dati su DVD.

Gli strumenti sono pensati soprattutto per:

 * fare rapporti veloci di dati utili (tsinfo, stream_type);
 * dare una veloce panoramica delle entità nel flusso (esdots, psdots);
 * fare rapporti su pacchetti TS (tsreport) o unità/fotogrammi/campi ES
   (esreport);
 * semplice manipolazione dei dati dei flussi (es2ts, esfilter, esreverse,
   esmerge, ts2es);
 * streaming dei dati, eventualmente con errori introdotti (tsplay).
