Notation è un progetto CLI per aggiungere firme come elementi standard nell'ecosistema dei registri OCI, e per creare un insieme di semplici strumenti per firmare e verificare firme. Ciò dovrebbe essere visto come una sicurezza simile alla verifica delle firme dei commit git, anche se le firme sono generiche e possono essere usate per scopi aggiuntivi.
