MRTGutils è una raccolta di semplici utilità per generare output utile per mrtg. Molte delle configurazioni esistenti di mrtg usano script shell o Perl per raccogliere l'output; su sistemi con molta attività, tali script possono generare molto carico extra. Questi (piccoli) programmi in C possono restituire le statistiche specificate in modo più efficiente.

Questo pacchetto fornisce i seguenti eseguibili per ottenere:

 - mrtg-load: l'attuale carico medio (media su intervalli di 5 minuti);
 - mrtg-ip-acct: il numero di pacchetti IP che hanno attraversato
                 un'interfaccia;
 - mrtg-apache: il numero di visite di un sito web Apache.
