strumento avanzato per sniffing di pacchetti e intrusione in connessioni

hunt è un programma per intrudersi in una connessione, osservarla e reimpostarla. Con il software ausiliario transproxy, che fornisce un proxy trasparente nel kernel Linux. Un altro software ausiliario presente in hunt è tpserv, questo programma implementa un proxy.

Può essere usato come strumento di penetrazione per migliorare la sicurezza della rete.

Notare che, dato che hunt opera su Ethernet, è adatto soprattutto all'uso con connessioni che possono essere osservate via Ethernet. È tuttavia possibile fare qualcosa anche per gli host su altri segmenti o quelli che sono su porte via switch.
