Fornisce un insieme di demoni per gestire l'accesso a directory e a meccanismi di autenticazione remoti. Fornisce un'interfaccia NSS e PAM verso il sistema e un sistema di backend con plugin per collegarsi a molteplici fonti diverse per gli account. È anche la base per fornire servizi di policy e auditing di client per progetti come FreeIPA.
