Il pacchetto greenlet è un derivato di Stackless, una versione di CPython che gestisce micro-thread chiamati "tasklet". I "tasklet" vengono eseguiti in modo concorrente (tipicamente in un unico o pochi thread a livello di SO) e sono sincronizzati con scambi di dati su "canali".

greenlet è il pacchetto autonomo derivato dalla libreria Python ed è usato da diversi pacchetti di IO non bloccante come alternativa più flessibile alle coroutine incorporate di Python.
