Term::ReadKey è un modulo Perl compilato che è dedicato a fornire un semplice controllo su modalità di driver per terminale (cbreak, raw, cooked, ecc.), gestione per letture non bloccanti, se permesso dall'architettura, e alcune funzioni pratiche generalizzate per lavorare con i terminali. Uno dei principali scopi è quello di avere funzioni il più portabili possibile, in modo da poter inserire "use Term::ReadKey" su qualsiasi architettura e avere una buona probabilità che sia funzionante.
