Il Device Mapper del kernel Linux è l'implementazione del team di LVM (gestione dei volumi logici di Linux) di un driver minimale di gestione dei volumi che gira nel kernel ma mantiene le informazioni di configurazione delle periferiche sottostanti nello spazio utente. Questo risulta utile non solo per LVM, ma anche RAID software e altri driver che creano periferiche "virtuali" a blocchi.
