Hjælpedæmon for dogtail på Wayland

På X11 afhænger dogtail af XTest-udvidelsen til at oprette punkter- og tastaturhændelser, men der er ikke noget tilsvarende på Wayland.

På GNOME på Wayland er der dog screen-cast og remote-desktop API'er, der kan bruges til at kontrollere tastaturet og markøren.

Wayland viser ikke globale koordinater og ATK vil returnere lokale koordinater for de forskellige programkontroller på Wayland, det er her at RecordWindow-metoden fra screencast kan bruges, da den vil oversætte globale koordinater til overfladerelative koordinater.

Selvfølgelig for at kunne optage et givent vindue skal der være en måde at kunne identificere sådan et vindue, og det er her at window-list-API'en kommer ind i billedet.

Introspect D-Bus API'en i mutter tilbyder en måde at vise alle topniveauvinduer.
