Linuxfunktionen prctl() gør det muligt at kontrollere specifikke karakteristika for en proces' opførsel. Brug af funktionen er dog ret rodet, på grund af begrænsninger i C og Linux. Dette modul tilbyder en pæn, ikke så rodet, pythonisk grænseflade.
