iNet Wireless Daemon (iwd) è un demone wireless minimalista che usa interfacce Linux moderne come cfg80211 e nl80211 (netlink). Il demone fornisce un'API D-Bus.
Il demone può essere controllato dalla riga di comando con l'utilità client iwctl inclusa.
L'utilità iwmon inclusa può essere usata per monitorare comandi ed eventi netlink generici del sottosistema 802.11. Usa il driver nlmon del kernel da Linux 3.10 e successivi.
Notare che il pacchetto si affida in modo predefinito all'attivazione di D-Bus per l'avvio. Se si desidera usare iwd in modo autonomo, senza alcun gestore, è necessario abilitare manualmente il servizio di sistema.
