Optagelsesredskab til skærmbilleder fra kommandolinjen

Scrot (SCReenshOT) er et simpelt optagelsesredskab til skærmbilleder fra kommandolinjen, som bruger imlib2 til at optage og gemme billeder.

Scrot har mange nyttige funktioner:

 - understøttelse af flere billedformater (JPG, PNG, GIF, osv.)
 - optimering af skærmbilledernes billedkvalitet
 - optag et specifikt vindue eller en rektangulært område på
   skærmen

Da Scrot er et kommandolinjeredskab, så kan det nemt skriptes og bruges i nye anvendelser. For eksempel kan Scrot bruges til at overvåge en skrivebords-pc, når administratoren ikke er til stede, og registrere uønskede aktiviteter.
