프로세스 스케줄링 데몬

Cron 데몬은 crontab에 지정되어 있는 대로 특정 프로그램을 특정 시간에 (예를 들면 매 분, 매 일, 매 주, 또는 매 월) 실행하는 백그라운드 데몬입니다. 기본 적으로 사용자별로 자기 자신의 crontab을 만들고 프로세스를 실행할 수 있습니다.

각 명령의 출력은 보통 시스템 관리자에게 (혹은 해당 사용자에게) 메일로 보내 집니다. 메일 시스템도 설치해야 이 출력 메세지를 받아 볼 수 있습니다.

이 cron 패키지는 어떠한 시스템 유지 테스크도 제공하지 않습니다. checksecurity 같은 주기적인 기본 유지 테스크는 다른 패키지에서 제공됩니다.
