Se si desidera che le proprie applicazioni accettino password e nomi utente Unicode, bisogna stare attenti a come validarli e confrontarli. L'infrastruttura PRECIS rende più sicuro l'utilizzo di password e nomi utente per le applicazioni. I profili PRECIS trasformano le stringhe Unicode in una forma canonica adatta per il confronto.
