Mopidy riproduce musica da dischi locali, Spotify, SoundCloud, Google Play Music e altro. Si può modificare la scaletta da qualsiasi telefono, tablet o computer usando diversi MPD e client web.

Mopidy versione base riproduce musica solo da file e flussi radio. Tramite estensioni Mopidy può riprodurre musica da servizi cloud come Spotify, SoundCloud e Google Play Music.
