Il comando news tiene informati sulle notizie relative al sistema. Ogni elemento notizia è contenuto in un file separato nella directory /var/lib/sysnews. Chiunque abbia i permessi per scrivere in tale directory può creare un file news.

SI NOTI: Questo comando non ha nulla a che fare con gli articoli USENET. Piuttosto è come una versione migliorata di motd.
