UDPcast può inviare dati simultaneamente a molte destinazioni in una LAN. Può, per esempio, essere usato per installare aule intere di PC in una volta sola. Il vantaggio di UDPcast rispetto ad altri metodi (come: NFS, FTP, ecc.) è che UDPcast usa le capacità multicast di Ethernet, questo vuol dire che non ci vorrà più tempo per installare 15 macchine di quanto ce ne vorrebbe per installarne 2.
