Cpipe kopier standardind til standardud mens den registrerer tiden det tager at læse et inddatamellemlager og skrive et uddatamellemlager. Statistik for gennemsnitlig gennemløb og den samlede antal byte kopieret udskrives til standard fejluddata.

Cpipe kan også bruges som alternativ til bufferredskabet for simple tilfælde.
