Internetprotokoltjenestedæmoner
Ipsvd er et sæt af internetprotokoltjenestedæmoner for TCP/IP (valgfrit SSLv3) og UDP/IP. En dæmon venter på indgående forbindelser på en sokkel; for nye forbindelser, køres et betinget arbitrært program til at håndtere forbindelsen. Dæmonerne kan anmodes om at læse og følge prædefinerede instruktioner om hvordan indgående forbindelser skal håndteres; baseret på klientens IP-adresse eller værtsnavn, de kan køre forskellige programmer, sætte et andet miljø, afvise en forbindelse, eller sætte en per vært begrænsning på samtidige brugere.
Ipsvd kan bruges til at køre tjenester normalt kørt af inetd eller tcpserver. Normalt køres dæmonerne af en supervisor-proces, såsom runsv fra pakken runit.
