Vis information om en dataoverførsel

Bar er et simpelt værktøj til at vise en strøm af data og vise resultatet for brugeren på stderr, der viser (a) antallet af data sendt (b) gennemstrømningen for dataoverførslen, og hvis den samlede størrelse for datastrømmen er kendt (c) tilbageværende estimeret tid, procent overført og en statusbjælke.

Bar blev oprindelig skrevet med det formål at estimere tidsforbruget for store dataoverførsler (mange, mange gigabyte) over et netværk. (Normalt i en SSH/tar-datakanal).
