從網路擷取檔案的工具

Wget 是一套透過兩個最被廣泛使用的網際網路協定：http(s) 與 ftp 擷取檔案的網路工具。它並不具互動性，所以只能在背景執行，在登出後。 本程式支援遞迴擷取例如 ftp 站台之類、需認證的網頁 -- 你可以使用 wget 製作檔案庫、個人網頁的鏡像，或是像 WWW robot 一樣漫遊網路。

Wget 特別適合在慢速、或是不穩定連線的情況下，接續擷取文件直到下載 完成。使用者可在支援續傳的伺服器(包括 http 與 ftp)接續上次檔案未 下載完成的動作。http 與 ftp 擷取檔案的動作皆有時間戳記，以便 wget 可判斷該檔案自從上次擷取至今的這段期間內是否有改變，並會依情況自動 下載新版本的檔案。

Wget 支援代理伺服器；使用這個功能可減輕網路負擔、增加擷取速度、並 提供在防火牆的環境內存取。
