Popt 是個相當受 getopt() 與 getopt_long() 函數影響的函式庫，但它允許更多 強大的引數擴張機能。它可以分析任意 argv[] 風格的陣列、以及自動根據命令列 的參數來設定變數，同時也允許透過組態檔案將命令列參數別名，並包含使用類似 介殼的規則來分析 argv[] 陣列中任意字串。
