Jabber is a Free Instant Messaging Server
This package contains Jabberd 2, the next generation of the Jabberd server. It has been rewritten from the ground up to be scalable, architecturally sound, and to support the latest protocol extensions coming out of the JSF.
With additional transports and/or services, Jabber supports connecting to AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN and a lot of other chat networks. These transports and services are provided in separate packages.
Only one of the Jabber 2 packages is needed. Each of the packages provides support for the following authreg options: anon, pipe, and pam. This packages provides additional support for LDAP authreg and Berkeley DB authreg and storage.
