The Open Vulnerability Assessment System (OpenVAS) is a modular security auditing tool, used for testing remote systems for vulnerabilities that should be fixed. OpenVAS was forked of the Nessus vulnerability scanner.

It is made up of two parts: a server, and a client. The server/daemon, openvasd, is in charge of running the tests, whereas the client, OpenVAS-Client, provides both a text and a graphical user interface.

This package provides the server needed to run the tests agains the remote hosts.
