GNU Bourne Again SHell

Bash je interpreter príkazov kompatibilný so^ "sh", ktorý vykonáva príkazy načítané z príkazového riadku alebo zo^ súboru. Bash tiež obsahuje užitočné vlastnosti zo^ shellov "Korn" a "C" (ksh a csh).

Bash je určený na to, aby spĺňal podmienky implementácie IEEE Posix Shell and Tools specification (IEEE Working Group 1003.2).
