Subtítulos baseados em texto são habitualmente usados com vídeo DivX. O Gaupol suporta múltiplos formatos de ficheiros de subtítulos e disponibiliza meios para correcções de texto e manipulação de tempo. A interface de utilizador do Gaupol é desenhada atendendo a processamento de lotes (batch) de múltiplos documentos e traduções convenientes.

Os formatos suportados são:

   * MicroDVD (. sub)
   * MPL2 (. txt)
   * MPsub (. sub)
   * SubRip (. srt)

Os VobSubs (subtítulos baseados em imagens usados nos DVDs) NÃO são suportados.
