Este é o 'iproute', o conjunto profissional de ferramentas para controlar o comportamento de rede nos núcleos ("kernels") 2.2.x e posteriores.

No mínimo, as opções CONFIG_NETLINK e CONFIG_NETLINK_DEV (ou CONFIG_RTNETLINK) devem estar compiladas no núcleo em execução.

Este pacote é conhecido também como iproute2 pelo autor principal ("upstream") e em alguma documentação.
