통계 분석을 이용한 무손실 mp3 노말라이져

MP3Gain은 mp3 파일들을 분석하고 조정해서 볼륨을 균일하게 만듭니다. MP3Gain은 많은 노말라이져가 하는 것처럼, 단지 피크 노말라이즈만을 하지는 않습니다. 대신, 인간의 귀에 파일의 실제 사운드가 얼마나 크게 들리는지 결정하기 위해 몇몇 통계 분석(replaygain 알고리즘을 사용)을 사용합니다.

MP3Gain은 디코딩 및 재 인코딩 없이, 무손실 방법으로 볼륨을 조정하기 위해 mp3 파일을 직접 수정합니다. 이러한 무손실 볼륨 조정 방법은 모든 mp3 플레이어에서 가능합니다. 즉, 특별한 태그 지원을 필요로 하지 않습니다.

MP3Gain은 또한 mp3 파일들에 replaygain 호환 태그를 추가할 도 있습니다.
