popt는 getopt() 및 getopt_long() 함수에 많은 영향을 받았습니다. 그러나 popt는 더욱 강력한 매개변수 확장성을 제공합니다. Popt는 임의의 argv[] 형태 배열을 분석할 수 있으며 명령행 매개변수를 기초로 해서 자동으로 변수를 설정할 수 있습니다. Popt는 설정 파일을 통해 alias 될 수 있는 명령행 매개변수를 제공하며, 쉘과 같은 방법을 사용하는 argv[] 배열내에 임의의 문자열을 분석하기 위한 유용한 함수가 들어 있습니다.

이 패키지는 런타임 라이브러리와 로캘 데이터가 들어 있습니다.
