ソフトウェアレポジトリ用キャッシュプロキシサーバ

Apt-Cacher NG はパッケージを Debian 形式のソフトウェアレポジトリから (場合 によってはその他の形式のものから) ダウンロードするためのキャッシュプロキシ です。

主な動作原理としては、中央のマシンがプロキシをローカルネットワーク向けに ホストし、クライアントは APT の設定をそのプロキシ経由でダウンロードするよう 構成します。Apt-Cacher NG は有用な全情報を保持して転送するので、似たような 要求があるとそのキャッシュ済みデータを再ダウンロードせずに配送します。

Apt-Cacher NG は apt-cacher の代替として一から設計されましたが、省システム リソースでスループットを最大化することを重視しています。apt-proxy や approx の代替としても利用可能で、クライアント側での sources.list ファイルの変更は 不要です。
