LaTeX e TeX per ipertesti (HTML) - eseguibili

TeX4ht è un sistema altamente configurabile per la produzione di ipertesti basato su TeX. Interagisce con applicazioni basate su TeX tramite file di stile e postelaboratori, lasciando al compilatore TeX nativo l'elaborazione dei file sorgenti. Per questo TeX4ht gestisce tutte le caratteristiche dei sistemi basati su TeX in generale e di LaTeX in particolare.

TeX4ht può essere usato sia per produrre documenti HTML usando file di input in TeX/LaTeX, sia per convertire in HTML dei file TeX già esistenti (in qualsiasi formato) con modifiche minime (di solito). Può creare anche ipertesti di altri tipi, tra i quali XML, XHTML, MathML e il formato XML di OpenOffice.org.

Contiene diversi metodi per convertire glifi e grafici presenti nei file DVI in PNG, GIF o JPEG: il metodo predefinito è tramite dvipng. In alternativa si può usare ghostscript, imagemagick, netpbm e pstoedit.
