invia pacchetti ICMP ECHO_REQUEST agli host di rete

fping è un programma simile a ping che usa le richieste di eco del Protocollo per Messaggi di Controllo su Internet (ICMP) per determinare se un host bersaglio risponde. fping differisce da ping dato che è possibile specificare sulla riga di comando un numero arbitrario di bersagli o specificare un file che contiene l'elenco dei bersagli da pingare. Invece di inviare a un bersaglio finché non scade o risponde, fping invierà un pacchetto ping e si sposterà sul prossimo bersaglio in un modello a girare.
