File Alteration Monitor - monitoraggio delle modifiche ai file

FAM monitora i file e le directory, notificando le modifiche alle applicazioni interessate.

Questo pacchetto fornisce un server che può monitorare un dato elenco di file e notificare le applicazioni tramite un socket. Se il kernel supporta dnotify (kernel >= 2.4.x), è il kernel che notifica direttamente a FAM. Altrimenti FAM recupera informazioni sullo stato dei file. FAM può anche fornire un servizio RPC per monitorare file remoti (come quelli su un file system NFS montato).
