L'uso prolungato di mouse e tastiera può causare lesioni da sforzo ripetuto (in inglese RSI, Ripetitive Strain Injury), perciò si raccomanda agli utenti di computer di fare pause regolari.

RSIBreak aiuta a prevenire danni da sforzo ripetuto tenendo traccia delle modalità di uso e ricorda periodicamente agli utenti di fare una pausa. Durante l'intervallo di pausa RSIBreak può mostrare un messaggio non invasivo, bloccare del tutto lo schermo o presentare una serie di immagini.
