Remind permette di ricordare a sé stessi gli eventi e appuntamenti in programma. Ogni promemoria o allarme può essere costituito da un messaggio inviato allo standard output o da un programma da eseguire.

Ha inoltre: calcolo sofisticato delle date, fasi lunari, sorgere e tramontare del sole, calendario ebraico, allarmi, output PostScript, frontend tcl/tk e gestione corretta delle festività.

I promemoria possono essere creati con il linguaggio di scripting di remind o utilizzando il frontend grafico nel pacchetto "tkremind".
