Ogni MPM (Multi-Processing Module) Apache fornisce l'eseguibile del server WEB con un "gusto" diverso, compilato con un diverso modello di elaborazione.

L'MPM "event" è progettato per servire più richieste simultaneamente passando una parte del carico di lavoro ai thread di supporto, liberando i thread principali per gestire le nuove richieste. È molto utile per siti con un alto traffico KeepAlive.

Questo MPM è sperimentale e meno testato rispetto agli MPM "worker" e "prefork".
