thttpd è un webserver piccolo, veloce e sicuro. Ha supporto per CGI, limitazione di banda in base ad URL e traffico ed autenticazione di base. thttpd ha un basso impatto sulla memoria dato che esegue un fork di sé stesso solo per eseguire script CGI. È progettato per essere veloce come i server web completi e ha buonissime prestazioni sotto grandi carichi.
