SMS Server Tools permette di creare un gateway centralizzato per SMS. Invia e riceve messaggi SMS tramite una semplice interfaccia basata su file. Può gestire fino a 20.000 messaggi in un mese.
Supporta un sistema di gestione degli eventi che permette di richiamare un programma o uno script personalizzato dopo l'invio o la ricezione di messaggi SMS.
SMS Server Tools utilizza uno o più (al massimo 32) modem GSM per inviare e ricevere messaggi SMS. Alcuni modem potrebbero essere equipaggiati con delle schede SIM come quelle Vodafone o Telmi. Tutti i messaggi vengono ordinati in code a seconda dell'operatore. Se un modem fallisce, viene disattivato per un'ora prima che il programma riprovi a usarlo, nel frattempo gli altri modem lavorano senza restrizioni. Le informazioni sullo stato e gli avvisi vengono registrati nel log di sistema.
