Decompyle converte byte-code Python in un sorgente Python equivalente. Accetta byte-code da qualunque versione Python tra 1.5 e 2.3 comprese. Notare che ancora non può decompilare byte-code prodotto da Python 2.4 e 2.5.

Il sorgente generato è molto leggibile: docstring, list, tuple e hash sono evidenziati.

Decompyle può anche verificare l'equivalenza dei sorgenti generati compilandoli e comparando il nuovo byte-code con il byte-code originale.
