Dbview è un piccolo strumento che mostra file dBase III e IV. Può essere anche usato per convertire i vecchi file .dbf per utilizzarli ancora con Unix.

L'intento non è stato quello di scrivere un raggelante visualizzatore, inventando nuovamente la ruota. Al contrario, dbview è pensato per essere usato in congiunzione con le proprie utilità per il testo preferite sotto Unix come cut, recode ed altre.
