corosync è un progetto per un'implementazione di qualità professionale con licenza "Revised BSD" di tutte le funzionalità principali richieste da openais. Il progetto mette in pratica ricerche all'avanguardia sul sincronismo virtuale per fornire un funzionamento corretto al 100% a fronte di malfunzionamenti o reti partizionabili, e con prestazioni eccellenti.

L'Application Interface Specification è composta da un'API software e dalle politiche che vengono usate per sviluppare applicazioni che mantengono i servizi attivi durante malfunzionamenti.
