SYSLINUX è un insieme di bootloader leggeri che attualmente supporta il filesystem DOS FAT (SYSLINUX), i filesystem Linux ext2 ed ext3 (EXTLINUX), l'avvio da rete PXE (PXELINUX) o i CD-ROM avviabili "El Torito" ISO 9660 (ISOLINUX). Include anche MEMDISK, uno strumento che carica un sistema operativo obsoleto (come DOS) da questi supporti.
