driver NTFS per lettura/scrittura per FUSE

Il driver ntfs-3g è un driver Linux NTFS di terza generazione, open source, con licenza GPL, che è stato implementato dal progetto Linux-NTFS. Fornisce pieno accesso in lettura e scrittura a NTFS, escludendo l'accesso ai file cifrati, scrivendo file compressi, cambiando la proprietà dei file e i permessi di accesso.

Tecnicamente si basa sul driver Linux NTFS di terza generazione ntfsmount e ne rappresenta un grande miglioramento. Le migliorie hanno riguardato la funzionalità, la qualità e le prestazioni.

ntfs-3g è basato su FUSE (infrastruttura per filesystem in spazio utente per Linux), perciò, per poterlo usare, sarà necessario preparare il modulo fuse del kernel.

Fuse è disponibile in ogni kernel recente. Non è necessario preparare un modulo del kernel se si sta usando un kernel Debian Etch o successivo.
