Egyéb bináris formátumok támogatása

A 2.1.43-as verzió óta Linux kernelben levő binfmt_misc kernel modul segítségével a rendszergazda különböző bináris formátumokat jegyezhet be a kiterjesztés vagy a mágikus szám alapján, így a megfelelő értelmező hívódik meg a fájl futtatásakor. Gondolj rá úgy, mint a #! futtató mechanizmus egy rugalmasabb verziójára.

A csomag egy 'update-binfmts' szkript, amivel a karbantartók regisztrájlák azokat a futtatókat, amik ezzel a modullal használhatók anélkül, hogy külön init.d szkriptek írása miatt kellene aggódni, és amit a rendszergazdák kicsit magasabb szintű csatolóként használhatnak a modulhoz.
