syslog-ng is an enhanced syslog daemon, supporting, amongst others:

 * Powerful configurability, while still being readable
 * Filtering on any part of the syslog message
 * Support for both legacy BSD and the new syslog protocol

   (plain, or over SSL/TLS), UDP, SQL, MongoDB
