Nexuiz on nopeatempoinen kolmiulotteinen deathmatch-räiskintäpeli nykyaikaisilla grafiikoilla ja tehosteilla. Se on tarkoitettu pelattavaksi internetissä tai lähiverkossa. Pelityyppejä ovat tavallisen deathmatchin lisäksi joukkueittain pelattava deathmatch ja lipunryöstö.

Nexuiz tuo deathmatchin takaisin juurilleen erinomaisesti tasapainotetuilla aseillaan ja nopeatempoisella toiminnalla. Samalla se tekee selvän pesäeron nykyaikaisiin realismiin pyrkiviin räiskintäpeleihin.
