Octave is a (mostly Matlab (R) compatible) high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.

This package is an empty 'virtual' package whose sole purpose is to install the an octave-forge version compatible to Octave 2.1 (the recommended testing branch) .

Once you have the octave2.1-forge package installed, you can remove this package.
